The big picture
Combine a fishing trip with Swedish friends in New Zealand
(Approximately the same areas that were visited in 2003; Omarama and Waikaia) with sightseeing in other parts of the South Island (maybe North Island as well?) and a land/air trip in Australia. Sydney (office) + Ayers Rock and Alice Springs. As it is the rainy season and very hot in Darwin that part has been postponed to another time.
After various discussions with SAS and tavel agents and friends this is what I have arrived at. The total time will be split fairly evenly between Australia and New Zealand but only a short period will be for
fishing.

The rest of the fishing team have cancelled their trip (For various reasons) which means I will change my activity focus from fishing to geocaching. For reasons of business the route home
will no longer be Christchurch - Sydney - Kuala Lumpur - Stockholm. I will fly west to Argentina, make a land trip to Uruguay, fly on to Brazil and then home from there. See the bottom of the itinerary.
