Guidebooks

For the serious independent traveller there are really just two good choices of guidebook: The Lonely Planet or the Rough Guide books. I personally prefer the layout of the Lonely Planets, but others prefer the Rough Guides.  Both provide similar excellent level of practical information and historical background. Just make sure you get one of the two..!

Research

Before leaving for any destination, half the fun is finding out about the place and planning where to go and what to do. In this case, where are the best fishing waters, which flies to use, where to stay and so on.
